Agreed. There was talk a few days ago about an update with a bunch of new content coming. Additionally, they've got a new person on the dev team who's doing a bunch of legwork for them, helping them set up all the npc's and some spawns. This is why you've seen things like aubury disappearing and nurmof being gone. all coming back in their permanent homes soon.
